Kobe Bryant's surprise for an inspiring kid  4 Days ago

Kobe Bryant made a surprise visit on The View to meet an incredible 6-year-old boy and his family, who are working to raise money for other families in need. Bryant gave a Lakers jersey to 6-year-old Bryson Thompson, who was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of four.

"Brock and Bryson were playing in the back yard… Brock came running in and said 'Bryson fell and he's not getting up.' And so I ran around the counter and I could see that Bryson was face down and wasn't moving, and I really thought that we, at that point, had already lost him. And he had a 15-minute long seizure."

Bryson was diagnosed with epilepsy, and his mother said Bryson would have 100 seizures a day.

The Thompson's received support from a nonprofit organization called Jack's Helping Hand, which provides assistance to children with cancer and other special needs.

Bryson's 8-year-old brother, Brock, came up with a brilliant idea to try and help the organization in return by auctioning off signed sports memorabilia with a fundraiser called "Helmerts4Helmets."

The View surprised the brothers dozens of signed helmets and jerseys from Tom Brady, Odell Beckham Jr., Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning, among others. Whoopi Goldberg then called Kobe Bryant to ask if he could sign a jersey, and he stunned the kids by walking onto the set and presenting them the jersey himself.

Via ABC News:

"We all have a … responsibility to each other, to help one another," Bryant said. "If you have the opportunity to do that, it's our responsibility as people to help one another. … It's [as] simple as that."
